One depression of the Feliway pheromone spray nozzle should be applied approximately 4" from the site, 8" from the floor. Only one spray per application site is necessary. Feliway is a wonderful product, I have used it for my one cat who sometimes would spray, since I've used Feliway once a day no more spraying. I've used Feliway with every cat I've had. My best friend told me about it at least 15 years ago. I would never go without it, and continue to recommend it to any friend who has cats! It works miracles at reducing the stress and tension when you get cats who just don't like each other.
I've never had an issue with any of my cats spraying, even when I did some fostering and had up to 11 at one time! I spray a few pumps of Feliway in the air to ease tension if the kids get feisty. When they start scratching something they shouldn't, I start spraying the object regularly, and the behavior stops. It's almost like "Mom is claiming this, not you." My friend always had issues with her cats spraying if she didn't use it regularly. Buy the product and use it for tension and prevention!
