AquaClear Filter Inserts

AquaClear Filter Inserts are a type of filter media designed for use in AquaClear aquarium filters. AquaClear is a popular brand that offers reliable and efficient filtration systems for fish tanks.

The AquaClear Filter Inserts come in different varieties, each serving a specific purpose in maintaining water quality in the aquarium. Here are the three main types of AquaClear Filter Inserts:

  1. AquaClear Foam Inserts: These are mechanical filter inserts that provide effective mechanical filtration by trapping large particles and debris. The foam inserts have a porous structure that allows water to pass through while capturing solid waste.
  2. AquaClear Activated Carbon Inserts: These inserts contain activated carbon, which helps to remove impurities, odors, and discoloration from the aquarium water. Activated carbon has a high adsorption capacity, meaning it attracts and binds to various organic and chemical compounds.
  3. AquaClear Biomax Inserts: Biomax inserts are biological filter media designed to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the aquarium filter. These bacteria help break down harmful substances like ammonia and nitrites, converting them into less toxic nitrates.

When setting up an AquaClear filter, it's recommended to layer the inserts according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Typically, the order is foam insert(s) at the bottom for mechanical filtration, followed by activated carbon inserts for chemical filtration, and finally, biomax inserts for biological filtration.

Regular maintenance, such as rinsing or replacing the inserts periodically, is essential to ensure proper filtration efficiency and a healthy aquarium environment. It's also worth noting that AquaClear Filter Inserts are designed specifically for AquaClear filters and may not be compatible with other filter systems.
