i had been using frontline plus on my indoor/outdoor cat for a few years and it worked great. no fleas, ticks were dying. we saw no fleas in the house at all, except a couple that were dying. flashforward to this past april (2010) and my indoor/outdoor cat had been killed 8 months earlier and i had 3 indoor cats only and all of a sudden they all had fleas. frontline was not working. i was finding flea eggs everywhere to boot. supposedly frontline would kill the fleas *before* they had a chance to lay eggs. i was putting the stuff on them every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and they were still scratching and dropping flea dirt and eggs everywhere. it was gross plus i have a new baby that's learning to crawl so i had to find another option.
the vet recommended advantage since we don't have a tick issue and it instantly made a difference. it was crazy how quickly it worked and KEPT working.
we even got a new kitten that came to us with frontline on him and he got fleas almost immediately. i put advantage on him and now he's flea free. although i counted 12 dead/dying fleas off of him one morning from where he sleeps. so i know it worked when the frontline did not.
not really sure where the fleas are coming from as i don't see them in the house (and i've looked) but am trying to wait it out since i have 3 kids and don't want to bomb the house. the advantage is still working though and the cats are no longer dropping the flea dirt or eggs so as my vet said, they are the exterminators right now.
thank goodness! i see an end to my flea problem and will keep the advantage on them for the next year.

My product came to me promptly however when I ordered two products on accident and sent one back. It's taken a long time to get my refund. I sent return to sender as directed about a week ago and still haven't seen my refund.

this stuff works great! It doesn?t leave my cats hair greasy looking, shes a persian, and it even has a pleasant scent. You can actually see fleas falling off, not jumping off, but dead, falling off in just a few hours.
