Certifect

Certifect for Dogs - 3 Month Purple 45-88 lbs

Certifect for Dogs – 3 Month Purple 45-88 lbs is a fast acting, long lasting topical flea and tick treatment for dogs from Merial, the makers of Frontline. This formula offers an effective means for killing ticks, destroying the flea life cycle and eliminating chewing lice infestations. Your dog will gain tick relief within 6 hours of application, detaching ticks already attached to your infested dog. Certifect will completely kill the tick invaders in 18 hours. Containing tick problems protects your dog against commonly transmitted diseases including: Lyme Disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Features:

Certifect also offers the same complete flea protection Frontline Plus. This means your dog will be completely protected from adult fleas, flea eggs and larvae. Certifect prevents re-infestation by eliminating the flea's ability to reproduce. This formula is safe, and can be used on puppies as young as 8 weeks old, and is also safe for breeding, pregnant and nursing dogs. Certifect is long lasting, offering a month of continual protection from ticks, and is waterproof so you don't have to worry about it washing off.

Certifect can ship anywhere except New York.

Directions:
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read entire label and enclosed directions and precautionary statements carefully. Do not allow children to apply product. Use on dogs ONLY. Do not use on cats, rabbits, or other animals. Do not apply more than once per month. DO NOT use on dogs diagnosed with diabetes or heart problems. Consult a veterinarian before using on dogs that are medicated, debilitated, aged or obese. DO NOT contact the treated area until completely dry.

SIDE EFFECTS: temporary, lethargy and pruritis (itching) may occur, with the use of this product. If signs persist, or become more severe within a few days of application, consult a veterinarian immediately.

To kill all stages of ticks, fleas and chewing lice apply topically to the skin of dogs or puppies (8 weeks or older) as follows: Open the child-resistant packing according to the instructions found on the inside back panel of the carton. Hold applicator upright away from face and body, cut applicator tip with scissors or twist to open. Place applicator tip through dog's hair to the skin level. Squeeze applicator, applying entire contents in two separate spots on the neck between the base of the skull and the shoulder blades where the dog cannot lick.

Frequency of Application
A monthly application of CERTIFECT kills ticks, completely breaks the flea life cycle and controls chewing lice infestations.

Research demonstrates that CERTIFECT kills adult fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ct. canis), flea eggs, and flea larvae for up to three months.

Certifect also prevents development of all flea stages for up to three months.

Although Certifect can control fleas for up to three months, if there is a high risk of re-infestation or if the pet has fleas which may cause flea allergy dermatitis, a once monthly application may be needed.

Certifect aids in the control of sarcoptic mange infestations. Apply once per month for at least two months for the elimination of mites.

Certifect can also be used for the treatment and control of flea, tick and chewing lice infestations on breeding, pregnant and lactating bitches.

Great product! Only product that seems to control the ticks around my area and I have tried them all. This is the ONLY product I will use on my pets now!

The ticks dropped off by wholetthedogsout from Waldorf, MD05/27/2012

I have three large breed dogs two GSD and one Boxer mix. All three are food allergic, so all these chewable meds are out! They are on Revolution for Heartworm preventative which has no tick prevention (regardless of some of the write ups). Moving back to the East (MD) tick prevention is a must. We tried the Preventick tick collars but they didn't work against the wooded 5 acres we are on, even though the dogs don't go in the woods, the deer carry the ticks right into the yard. One application of the Cerifect and no ticks, but this means we are doubling up on flea control (Revolution plus the Certifect). The vet has assured us that this won't be a toxic level. I have decided to try a three month course to make sure that they react well to that issue, as well as the Certifect which can cause itchiness and drowsiness in the dogs, which didn't happen with dose #1. When wieghed against the health problems that ticks carry I have decided the Certifect is the better choice. I will add a follow up review after the three month course which should be helpful because if my guys can tolerate it well anyone can, my GSD's are super sensitive. Product is messy, stays sticky for 36-48 hrs and it kept getting all over me so the one star deduction. Thank God for the blessing of dogs!!

Great against ticks! by Dawn from Michigan06/17/2013

This is the only product that keeps the ticks off our dog AND keeps her from bringing them into the house. The directions say to put it on their skin in the neck area but our dog has very sensitive skin and it irritated her skin so I use it all the way down her back. It still works great. It will have a strong smell for about 12 hours and the fur will look wet for about 24 hours but it is well worth it for the protection of our dog and our family.
