I stopped using rawhides for a year due to allergy concerns (dog went on a simplified diet). People used to say how white my dog's teeth were when I used them. She began to have foul breath shortly after I stopped. I let her have a natural bone instead, which lead to a tooth crack, infection and extraction. Back to the rawhides she goes! I would say (as the maker does on the label) that this product is good to supplement brushing but not a replacement for it. She loves the taste though -grabs it from my hand and runs away with it. I soften it a bit under warm water first due to lingering concerns about her chewing on hard materials.

I only wish that I had gotten two packages the 1st time around. Both of my dogs loved them and I appreciate their fresh breath.

Both my labs love these but I did find that the dogs became very thirsty afterwards.

Having something to chew and play with, other than our household things, it essential for for our active dog's well being in the house. These have become a staple. I'm pretty much a vegan and try to avoid animal products for the dogs, but I haven't found a veggie substitute for these. Much better value here than at our vet's office.
