The XLarge has a flap dimension of 14"W x 23"H and is suitable for very large, giant breed dogs It is a 'self-framing' pet door which will adjust to fit any thickness from 1/16" to 2" and is particularly suitable for a hollow-core door. Because of this unusually broad adjustment range, there are a surprising number of applications where this pet door is one of the better choices. For example, it will install successfully in the thin metal kick-panel of a screen door, the insulated metal of a storm door, the grate of a security door or the siding of an unfinished garage wall. Because of the one-part flap design, this door will also work successfully in a 'double-flap' wall-thru installation though the wall will still have to be framed out. The framing is very sturdy, extruded aluminum. The locking cover is made of steel that is very strong. It slides in a track with two separate spring loaded dead bolt type locks. This door was formerly manufactured by US Pet Products as the Pet-Eze door for many years and has always been very highly regarded.
