Neck: Measure the circumference of pet's neck for a snug fit. No need to add inches as you would with a collar.
Chest/Girth: Measure girth around the broadest part of the chest and add 2".

The material was fine, if a little staticky. The colors were exactly as depicted. Only problems: the back length was smaller than advertised, making the whole thing far too tight, and the tail is much shorter. I wish exchanges were accepted, as now I'm out the money AND I have no costume for Mea, our tiny (but apparently not "extra small") rescue.
