had one for 6 yrs now. smartest purchases i made. Saves me so much time & my cats smell better too, gives me piece of mind to know they are healthier (and my area by the litter box smells better too.) Can go about 4-6 days before emptying the tray with 2 cats.

Just purchased a LITTER MAID ELITE. In principle, it would seem to be a good product--in principle. FIRST: the product came without carbon filters, a cleaning brush, and a "scoop". When I called the manufacturer, I learned that LITTER MAID has been taken over by another company... I'm also told that perhaps the product I purchased was a returned item (I got the box and it was unopened). The missing items were promptly sent FED EX. SECOND: The product does not function properly. The "rake" does what it is suppose to do the first time you use it. As the "rake" returns to the "home" position, it lifts up (out of the litter) and stays in this position. I have to manually push the "rake" down if it is to engage the litter during the next cycle.
