Great Mud Protection by Sunny's Girl from Hudson Valley NY04/23/2013
I have been using Ichthammol on my QH for two seasons now to prevent scratches, cracked heels etc caused by mud. It's a great preventative. When your horse's legs are clean and dry, slather ichthammol on around pasterns, fetlocks, right up to hocks and knees. Then your horse can go out in the mud with a long lasting anti-fungal barrier to keep the mud out. I now only need to use it once a week. What a relief!
first ointment that seems to work by sailor07/15/2012
I'm using this ointment on my toes to try to cure a fungus. Growing up my mom always used Ichthammol for infections, boils, scrapes, etc. So I'm following tradition and giving it a try.
