Keratolytic Humectant Gel for Hyperkeratotic Conditions
Active Ingredient(s): KERASOLV is a topical gel containing salicylic acid 6.6%, sodium lactate and urea in a propylene glycol gel. Salicylic acid has been shown to produce desquamation of the horny layer of the skin while not affecting the qualitative or quantitative structure of the viable epidermis. Sodium lactate, urea and propylene glycol are humectants.
Indications: KERASOLV is a topical aid in the removal of excessive keratin in hyperkeratotic skin disorders (calluses, thickened foot pads, planum nasale, etc.). Especially useful on geriatric animals.
Safe for use on dogs, cats and horses.
Dosage and Administration: Apply once daily, preferably after cleansing and hydration of the affected areas. Be sure to rub KERASOLV in well so that no excess medication is visible on hair or surrounding area. Upon improvement, occasional use (2-3 times a week) will maintain remission. Hands should be rinsed thoroughly after application.
Caution(s): Federal law restricts this drug to use by, or on the order of, a licensed veterinarian.
For external use on dogs, cats and horses. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Should erythema (swelling and redness) develop, decrease frequency of use or discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.

This Gel was prescribed to my baby, Misty. Her nose was cracking and becoming very rough. Sometime little pieces would fall off. We put this gel on her nose morning and night and her nose has returned back to the smoothness it supposed to be.
