My greyhounds like to chew rawhide but I don't like to give it to often because of the possible blockage issues. When I saw these as an alternative to rawhide I was interested. The reality is that they are smaller than I need them to be (only about 5 inches long and 1/2 inch in diameter). My dogs chew through them so fast I have to give them two at a time. They do not compare to rawhide in the amount of time it takes to chew at all. They're a good product if you know what you are getting but they're certainly not the 'alternative to rawhide' that I thought I was getting.
