OPTIMA 365 for Dogs helps reduce shedding. It contains an essential 10:1 ratio of Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids in a veterinary-exclusive formula that includes serine, proline, taurine, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Most anti-shedding products are high in fat, but OPTIMA 365 contains 33 percent fewer calories than competitive brands, which is significant considering the significant numbers of obese dogs and cats. It has been determined that omega fatty acids need to be consumed in an optimum ratio for ideal health benefits.

I have been very happy with this product, having used it for eight years.
My only complaint is the pump on the one gallon size. It tends to leak when pumping, creating an unpleasant mess.
This stuff is amazing!! by AC from New York01/06/2012
Wow - this stuff is simply amazing!! I have a 9.5 year old Lab. We have been living with black dog hair all over the house for her entire life. It took a month or so for Optima 365 to start working, but wow - what a difference!!! There is barely any hair in the house - she has virtually stopped shedding. Her coat has become so shiny and beautiful that MANY people have commented on the difference. Her skin and coat feels healthier, and I would guess the Omega fatty acids are good for her general health as well (as they are for humans). She's been on this for about 6 months now, and I'm back for my second 128 oz. bottle. The large size is definitely most cost-efficient, and the picture doesn't show that it comes with a very clean and convenient pump. (Make sure to shake it before pumping or pouring it since the oils separate.) My vet originally recommended this product to me, and I couldn't endorse it more strongly.

My vet recommended this product last year when my dog had dry skin, dander and shed terribly. True, it cured these conditions. This is the third gallon I bought, but I am going to look for something organic next time, as the inactive ingredients show less desirable contents: GMO products, such as corn starch, poultry by-products and other stuff. My dog eats organic food and drinks filtered water. Just recently I felt a cyst on him. I can't say these things are related, but he also has been seeking out grasses to eat. He is 10 and otherwise in good health and I don't want to make him ill with GMO ingredients.

Bought the gallon size (128 oz) thinking that the pump would be better than measuring by the tablespoon from the 16 oz container, but the gallon size was heavy to shake, plus the pump had to be in the closed position when shaken or it leaked everywhere. Fortunately we still had the 16 oz container and have been filling that up. Dog loves the taste of it. Still shedding but not as much. Hopefully it'll lessen even more the longer we use the product.
