Pooping Problems?? Ė How to Handle Your Petís Waste

Coprophagia is common in dogs that do not get the proper nutrients in their diet, which is caused by consumption of low quality pet food. The food is not digested properly in the tract and therefore the dog eats the feces to retain the nutrients. Sometimes dogs may also eat poop due to stress or boredom. There is also evidence that consuming feces is an evolutionary trait, as canines may have fed on waste when food supplies were low. Make sure to feed your dog high quality ingredients and keep them happy!

Frequent or loose bowel movements can be caused by ingestion of toxic materials, allergies, infection by worms or bacteria, and kidney and liver diseases. Signs and symptoms include flatulence, blood or mucus in the stool, decreased appetite, fever, vomiting, dehydration, lethargy, and weight loss. While they are suffering from diarrhea, put your dog or cat on a fast of 12 to 24 hours and keep them hydrated.

Infrequent or difficult defecation can be caused by dehydration, lack of fiber, or ingestion of foreign materials like grass, hair, rocks, or bones. Constipation can lead to other issues such as hypothyroidism and can be indicative of kidney disease. Remember to properly hydrate your pet and feed them lots of fiber, and use lubricants or laxatives to help treat constipation.

Our cats and dogs can pick up unwanted parasites through a variety of ways, including from feces on the ground, mother's milk, or while in the womb. They may not even display any signs or symptoms of infection despite being riddled with parasites. It is imperative that you get rid of these unwanted pests, as your pet can transmit these problems to your house or other members of your family.

Cats rarely go outside to do their business, so it's important for them to have a litter box somewhere in your home for them. Litter boxes help consolidate your feline friend's waste in a controlled area, making it easy to clean up and dispose with little hassle.

Picking up your dog's poop can often be messy and unpleasant, but it's nonetheless important that you do it anyways. We have great bag products to make disposing your canine pal's waste clean, easy, and convenient.
