Perky Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Wild Bird Feeder unique design has feeding ports that close when squirrels climb on, preventing squirrels from accessing the bird seeds in this feeder.
Holds 3.4 lbs of sunflower or mixed seeds
6 feeding ports
Squirrel's own weight closes feeding ports, preventing them from raiding seed supply
Within one hour the squrrils had figured out how to get the seeds out by pushing up and chewing on the plastic holes, bending up the metal leafs. but after a little modification and adjustments I improved upon this design, I have videos of the squirrls getting to the seeds before my modifications and starving afterwords.
Imaginative Bird Feeder by Jan03/13/2012
The bird feeder is an innovative product. It is a squirrel deterrent, however we have mourning doves, towees, and jays that can't get the feed because they're too heavy, and it took a long time for the sparrows, Oregon junkos, chickadees and linnets to figure out how to stand on the u-shaped feeding bar. The bar seems not big enough in diameter and it's hard for the bigger sparrows to balance while feeding. They rock up and down. I would also suggest a bottom saucer to catch the grain which falls to the ground where squirrels can get it. The saucer would support the smaller birds as they feed, a position they seem to like. We have attached an attractive branch to the bottom of the feeder where the birds perch just before landing on the bars.
The feeder is attractive and much more suitable hanging in the garden than the usual plastic tube feeder most people have.

(My dogs have nothing to do with this bird feeder) I bought two of these bird feeders last year from Tractor Supply. I threw one away within a week. Within two days both had the two springs (two on each) come loose thereby rendering the entire feeder useless.
