Abbie Girl Makes Waves

Abbie Girl isn’t your average surfer- this competitive canine holds the record for the longest wave surfed by a dog. Once a rescue dog, this Australian Kelpie was adopted from the Humane Society Silicon Valley by her current owners and soon became a star. Abbie Girl has been on television, in movies and in books since she began surfing and is a local icon in her home town of San Diego.

Smokey the Cat and the Purr Heard 'Round the World

At a LA peak of 67.7 decibels, Smokey the Cat holds the Guinness World Record for the loudest purr from a domesticated cat. The purr is approximately as loud as a vacuum cleaner and generally considered to be moderately loud. Smokey measured her purr with a microphone held one meter away and most recently had her record contested by a cat named Merlin. However, Merlin’s purr has yet to be measured with the same method as Smokey’s performance.

Rose Catches Most Flying Discs At Once

It’s not uncommon to see dogs catch Frisbees in pretty impressive ways- but only one dog can catch and hold seven flying discs one after another while holding on to each disc. Rose currently holds the record for the most discs caught and held at once. Rose was adopted from the Humane Society in 2005 and set her record in 2009 and had the record published in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2011.

Zac's Attempt to Break Records is a Slam Dunk

With skills that rival LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Zac the parrot holds the record for the most slam dunks performed by a parrot in a one minute interval. Zac was able to score an impressive 22 dunks, which earned him his place in the Guiness Book of World Records. He also holds a second record for the most cans of soda opened by a parrot in 60 seconds.

Colonel Meow's Long Fur Wins Award

Colonel Meow achieved internet stardom prior to attaining his official world record as a cat with grumpy demeanor and puffy fur. Now, the Colonel holds the world record for the longest fur on a cat with an average hair length of nine inches. The Himalayan-Persian mix had ten strands of hair measured by three different veterinarians to confirm the record.

Frankenlouie is the Oldest Janus Cath



Frankenlouie has a unique genetic disorder that often proves to be fatal within the first few days of birth. At twelve years old, Frankenlouie has earned the title of the longest surviving diprosopus, or Janus, cat. His name is a bit of a pun, as each face has its own name of either Frank or Louie. The combined name of Frankenlouie is a play on those names and the name Frankenstein.
