    So Far, So Good
    July 22, 2022
My Vet recommended these treats to help keep my cats' teeth free of tartar. Both of my cats like the flavor and eat them willingly. The piece size is small, though, and I do believe on occasion, my cats swallow them whole instead of chewing them up. It's a little soon to say whether or not they are working; this was my first purchase of this product.
    Pros
    • Both cats like the flavor
    Cons
    • Small piece size can be swallowed whole instead of chewed up

    My cats don't like much
    December 16, 2021
Half my cats don't want these as treats. They will eat them in their regular dry food, but leave them if I toss as treats. Granted these are spoiled rotten cats. Only seem to come in salmon and fish flavor which a couple of my cats won't eat.
    Pros
    • Seems to appeal to some cats and not others. A few of my cats don't like salmon or fish, so just leave these.
    Cons
    • Smells more like salmon than anything. Also they're very small, which cats tend to swallow rather than chew.

Four Years and Not a Stitch of Tartar
    August 27, 2020
I rescued my Chlo' four years ago. She was in dire straights health wise. After getting her in really good shape, I had her teeth cleaned and started using these treats which were recommended by her vet (a top tier fellow for feline subspecialties) when we lived in Atlanta, GA. Four years later, back home in California...and at every vet and grooming visit, experts say Chlo' is not in need of teeth cleaning. Her recent, last vet said he could not find a stitch of tartar on any of her teeth!!! As a doting mom who knows oral health is crucial for heart, brain, gut, etc. health and longevity in cats, I am over the moon that Chlo' (a picky treat eater) loves these treats as well!
    Pros
    • They don't have worrisome ingredients that inflame the joints and cause other problems for cats over time like so many other dental treats do.

    Nice size and shape
    June 24, 2017
These are the perfect size and shape for a dental treat. Unfortunately, the cat who I bought them for won't touch them. She is a small cat with a small mouth and most treats are too big, so I was hopeful. The other cat likes them, however.

    Cat Treats Package breaks
    March 6, 2017
Tartar Shield cat treats are packaged in bags where the plastic zipper breaks when the bag is still half full of treats.

    She loves it

Our vet recommended this product for our cat, who had some tartar buildup on her teeth. It's too early to tell whether it is doing its job, but the cat clearly loves it. I learned how much when I was out of town and my husband took over the feeding. He was given a reprimand (by the cat) for leaving the treats off her food!

    My cats love these
    June 21, 2016
My dental vet recommended Tartar Shield Dental treats. My cats had been eating Greenies and C.E.T Dental treats, but the C.E.T. treats have become so high in price that I will not buy them anymore. I'm so glad to have found Tartar Shield. My boys love them, and they are reasonably priced. I have been using them for about 2 weeks. I clean my cats' teeth regularly, so I hope to see good results from these treats.

    When size matters...

Our tabby cat has a scarred lip and has a hard time eating big pieces of food. These treats are a good size for him and he enjoys the flavor.

My two cats thoroughly enjoy these treats. My male runs me over to get to his bed when he hears me open the bag. I feel good about giving them these treats to help keep their teeth clean. A win-win for all.

    Tartar Control
    December 21, 2015
Hoping that the product lives up to it's claimed benefit in helping to control tartar after our Maine Coon called Rocky had his teeth cleaned. Rocky however loves them which is a good thing. Product was recommended by our vet and I'm sure he won't have if it didn't provide a benefit in tartar control.

Both of my cats like the Tartar Shield Cat Treats and they can be pretty picky. They come running when I shake the bag and if it helps their teeth as well it's all good.
