overpriced by mel06/21/2011

It's a great product but way overpriced! I can purchase this same item from this company through Amazon for 1/2 the price ($46.99). There's no excuse for that.

This product came to us as a powder. If it were in pill form it would be easier to handle.

Wish I had known about Tylan years ago! by Doggy Dad11/13/2013

One of my dogs has IBD. Initially he had a severe case of diarrhea. While his other medications were working on calming his stomach, the Tylan QUICKLY cleared up the diarrhea. He was on it for a few weeks until he finished the rest of his medication and was fine after that. He gets an occasional flare up of the IBD. I give him 1/4 tsp. of Tylan mixed with his food and it clears right up.

Name brand - Excellent price by ACK from Burke, VA12/06/2012

We've had excellent results with this product with all our Gerrman Shepherds in treating and later heading off long term intestinal problems. Anyone familiar with the breed knows how small problems get progressively worse within days and can lead to months of distress for the animals (and owners). We buy empty 000 size gelatin capsules which hold about a 1/4 tsp of product. At the first signs of a deterioating bowel condition we give one or two capsules followed by 1 additional capsule every 12 hours if needed. The stuff is quite bitter and administering it in capsule form (wrapped in cheese and gulped down with some hamburger or chicken) really does the trick. It is extremely rare that more than 1 or 2 doses is ever needed, altough our Vet has said that long term use is better than the effects of poor nutrient absorbtion due to continual intestinal/bowel problems. We also typically supplement with a probiotic immediately following the dose to restablish/maintain a normal, healthy intestinal flora - antibiotics don't usuaully discriminate between good and bad bacteria. While this product can be purchased without a prescription, it would be a good idea to check with your Vet first to ensure this is a reasonable course of treatment for your animal, establish correct dosage and rule out anything that might require other treatment protocols. Bottom line - it works!!

Not just for chickens... by Walter from Hartford, CT06/21/2012

My 18 month old dog was diagnosed with IDB after getting another puppy. He had a severe case of diarrhea and lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. Our vet put him on Hills i/d and Tylan. The Tylan resolved the diarrhea problem within 2 days! This isn't what it was intended for, but apparently clever vets have figured out it is a miracle drug for canine diarrhea! It worked great for my dog. Now just to put all the weight back on!

My Vet suggested this by Nygoldengirl03/07/2012

Some German Shepherds according to my Vet benefit from using this product for their GI health. I would only use it on a Vet's reccomendation. It has worked for my dog, under supervision by the Vet. . The price at Entirely Pets is an excellent value.
