This battery operated Ultraviolet Urine Detector reveals hidden urine spots and illuminates urine that is undetectable to the human eye. Spot Spotter helps identify the source of an odor so that it can be properly treated and removed. Spot Spotter™ works on any surface including carpet, upholstery, concrete, tile, sheet rock, and more. The average life of the blacklight bulb is up to 5000 hours.
Getting your home really clean means finding all the sources of pet odors, even those you can't see.
Simple Solution Spot Spotter U.V. light (also known as a black light) can detect both old and new urine spots and stains on your carpeting, wood flooring, tile, upholstery and other surfaces.
I've used the Spot Spotter to help me clean up areas where my cats have urinated on the carpet and other places. It was a big help since I found spots I didn't know needed attention.
Poor quality, lasted one time. by customer01/14/2013
Very disappointed with this UV detector. It was shipped poorly, no packing for protection and thrown in box that was too big, leaving it to tumble freely during shipment. The manufacturer's packaging was extremely poor too. The unit itself is cheaply made of inferior plastic. After putting in 8 brand new Duracell batteries it barely illuminated. I tried 8 new Ultra Power Duracell batteries and the light went on for 1 second. UV urine detectors are invaluable in multiple cat households when they work. Companies should not waste their customer's time, money and energy on selling inferior products. They need to get it right or forget it.
Battery Life is short by momoko from San Gabriel, CA06/27/2012
I can definitely tell the "bleach mark". I can barely see the cat urine trace if the environment is not completely dark. Many times, I've mistaken the bleach mark and rice stain mark from cat urine.
In addition, this thing needs 8 batteries. Since I don't use it very often, I've considered it as a nuisance whenever putting in and taking out the batteries.

It's scary but it works very well at finding places where my cats had peed! Does need to be fairly dark to be most effective.
Takes too long to warm up by CherylS from Rural E.TX02/04/2012
I like that this light is big (about a foot long), but it takes too long to warm up and sometimes it doesn't warm up. It works if you can get it to come on. Cannot recommend. Would have sent it back but figured it would cost half the price to get it back to the vendor. May look for another brand.
Strike 2 by Annette from Blowing Rock, NC01/17/2013
I bought one last year and had problems with it turning on then immediately going dim on me. If you twisted the bulb it would go bright for a few seconds then dim again. Thought I bought a lemon. I bought another this year because they would let me return as too much time had passed. The new one does the same thing. I returned it immediately and am still waiting for a refund. Poor quality product.
