Instructions for Use:
The Heat Pad can be used with 12VDC power from the cigarette plug of a vehicle or it can be used with 110VAC power (adapter is included).
Once plugged in to your vehicle's 12 volt outlet or cigarette lighter or s 110 volt outlet, it quickly reaches 105-108 degrees F and will maintain that temperature until unplugged.
The Hound Warmer doesn't get hot to the touch like a traditional heating pad. It is a warming pad designed to keep your dog comfortable while traveling or overnight without using a lot of energy. Leaving the pad in the open air will allow the heat to dissipate. When your dog lays on the pad, the trapped heat will build up to a veterinary recommended temperature of 110 degrees.
The Hound Warmer only draws 18 watts of power (1.5 amps), so you can safely use it all night long with a typical vehicle battery. In really cold weather, a marine battery is recommended as an alternative power source if your battery is weak.
Setting the Temperature:
Press the MODE key until the red "Temp" light is illuminated. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select the required temperature (displayed in degrees Fahrenheit). With each press, the temperature will go up or down 1 degree. The Hound Warmer has a temperature range of 95 degrees to 122 degrees. The default temperature is 104 degrees. Select the temperature most suitable for the animal's requirements and environment.
Setting the Time:
Press the MODE key until the yellow "Time" light is illuminated. Use the UP and DOWN keys to select the required time (between 1 and 12 hours). For each press, the time will go up or down 1 hour. The default time is 4 hours. Press the START key and the mat will start heating. The green "Heating" light will be illuminated. When the selected time has elapsed, the green "Heating" light will go off as will the heating pad. The hours will still be displayed on the LED. Pressing the START key while the green "Heating" light is lit will turn off heating.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
After use, wipe the Pad with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Do not submerse in water. Check Pad periodically for damage.
