I thought dogs could not eat avocado?

Avocado contains an oil-soluble compound called persin, which is very similar in structure to fatty acids. ... Your dog, however, has much better odds:avocado fruit and oil are safe for dogs and cats to eat, as they are better at breaking down persin as a fatty acid.

Food and treats/Vitamins that have avocado are safe for dogs to eat. They have been tested not to have persin in them that is toxic to dogs. Please don't feed your dogs avocado because they can be harmful to your dogs. In food and treats they are okay to give.
