My dog used to eat her food in 30 seconds in her other bowl with a hump in the middle. I was afraid she would choke on her food. Now it takes her 3-4 minutes to get everything out of her dish.

I have 2 dachshunds that are gobblers. This slows them down and makes them think they are getting more food than they are. One has lost weight, still working on the other one to get some weight off. These bowls have helped.
Great Slow Down Bowl

One of my dogs (about 23#) is a super fast eater - 30 seconds or less. When he eats from this bowl, it takes him atleast 3 1/2 minutes to finish. This doesn't sounds like a lot, but it gives the other 2 dogs enough time to finish before he runs over and tries to steal their food! Slows him down a little more than the orange spiral bowl.

I like the fact the bowl slows down our terrier mix while he's eating, but he still doesn't chew his food. I think he thinks it is a game. All in all, I think it will be a big help with bloat.
Does a good job

I bought this and the orange spiral bowl for my Rat Terrier who already had a Kong Puzzle Bowl to slow her eating and help her digestive issues, but she was getting quicker at it so I decided to mix things up. This bowl doesn't slow her down as much as the spiral shape, about 3 minutes vs. 5 minutes, but still far better than a regular bowl! I let my Pomeranian mix try it too, even though she usually eats slow anyway.
Works a treat!

My two Italian Greyhound mix puppies are serious food gobblers. I tried tennis balls in the dishes (they just took them out and continued eating like little buzzsaws,) a device that attaches to the dish with a suction cup (they licked it loose and tried to eat that too,) and another molded plastic bowl from Martha Stewart. The MS bowls slowed them down a bit, but they were still eating so fast they would throw up afterward. This bowl has LOTS of little bumps and dips, so they can only get a small amount of food at a time. They still try to eat as fast as they can, but now they take about 10 times longer to finish their meals - and no more barfing it back up! I highly recommend it.

Terrific Dog Bowl

This bowl works very well in slowing down my beagles. I am happy with it. It doesn't work for my Lhasa Apsos though because their muzzles are short and they have too much trouble getting the food out.
Best Eat Slow Bowls Ever!!!

These bowls are a god send. I purchased the mini size because I have Beagles. I have used other eat slow bowls in the past and those worked ok, but my dogs still inhaled and choked on their food. These bowls are the greatest!!! I prefer the flower shaped bowl the best, as I bought one of each design to test them out. It is the easiest to put the food in, shake around a bit to disperse and put on the floor. The others take a little more maneuvering to disperse the food, but they work just as well with slowing down fast eaters. I also love they are dishwasher safe (top rack only). These bowls slow down their eating so all my doggies finish eating about the same time.
