    strange applicator
    November 3, 2016
this product has a weird little applicator--you insert the vial of the product in this applicator and press down to open the vial. But when i did this, a lot of the chemical product in the vial came shooting out all over me. i used 3 vials on my 3 cats and it happened each time. Plus the product is very watery so it dripped all over their backs. i applied the product on Monday 10/31. it's Thursday 11/3 and the product is still a blob on the cats' upper neck. Otherwise, the product seems to work without any side effects and the cats have not tried to clean it off of themselves or each other (for once).

    Very dissatifsfied

Used this on both of our cats and it does not work. Both cats are strictly indoor cats but the dogs bring fleas in to them. Will not buy it again and would not recommend it.

    Vet Recommended

My Vet originally recommended this product to me years ago. I was using a well known "other brand" of flea and tick medication and they were picking up ticks anyway. I started using Ovitrol X-Tend and have never had a problem with ticks since. The price is also very reasonable. We live in a rural area with a lot of deer/wildlife and our animals all go outside.

    Things change

Two cats with fleas, used before and worked great and fleas were bad. This time it had no effect, I checked a week after applied and fleas were doing just fine! Maybe old product?
It is also very oily/messy cats look like flea bags after application. Going to switch to Comfortis (oral) It got great reviews!
    Not effective

Heard good things about this product but I flea dipped my cat, waited for him for to become fully dry, applied medicine, two weeks later... he has fleas again. He is an inside cat so he doesn't roam in the dirt or grass either so for me this product was very disappointing.

    More Effective than Frontline!!
    June 23, 2014
This product was very oily, my cats hated it, but they hate any of the tick meds I administer. It remained oily for several days, my long hair cat suffered the most, fur balls etc. That said, I have not seen any ticks or fleas and I applied Ovitrol a few weeks ago, still working great!!! Frontline seems to have lost its efficacy, I live 1 town away from Lyme, and personally have suffered Lyme disease, I will purchase Ovitrol again!!!

    Good Product
    June 4, 2014
This product is the only one out there that will kill ticks as well as fleas, with the exception of Frontline, which is no long working on my cats. And it is reasonably priced. The only downside to it is that it leaves the fur very oily looking for a long time. If you bathe your cats after 24 hours, I guess it would clean the fur. The product does work. The applicators seem a little cumbersome to me. Someone else may not have the same problem I had with them. I will continue to use this product.
