I searched for a low fat treat as a replacement for a prior product. My dog has pancreatitis and tolerates these treats just fine.

I have been giving my dogs these Lite Snackers for years now and the 3 pack price is the best on the web that I could find, I just bought 2 cases because my dogs love them and for 15 calories you get a good size snack. They are a good solid snack and my dogs love them. What else is there to say?? 2# bags for $7 is super for us.

I was looking for a substitute treat for praise, which was not full of fats. These have allowed me to lower my dogs weight, but still reward her.

These cookies are great!! They have half the calories of the cookies I buy at the store. This is very important since I have an overweight beagle we are trying to slim down.

These are recommended by my vet for our diabetic dog. I highly endorse that recommendation.
Ordinary dog bone treats are full of fat which most diabetic dogs cannot tolerate. This is especially true if your dog has had its cataracts removed.
No, I'm only a dog owner trying to pass some hard earned info along.

    from AZ asked:

How big are the biscuits?  What is the recommended weight for these treats?
    1 Answer

    Feeding Instructions

The caloric intake from treats should not exceed 10% of a dog’s total daily caloric requirement. If treats are given, the amount of food should be reduced. For example, if the daily feeding recommendation for a dog is approximately 550 kcals, the dog can have either 2 cups of OM Overweight Management formula dry diet and no treats, or 1 3/4 cups OM Overweight Management formula dry diet plus 3 Lite Snackers canine treats daily.

What's the sugar content? Are they safe for a diabetic dog?
    1 Answer
The calorie content for this product is as follows: Calorie Content Metabolizable Energy (ME): 2735 kcal/kg, 1243 kcal/lb, 15 kcal/biscuit Unfotunately, the food does not list its sugar content. I would ask your veterinarian whether or not this food is safe for your pet, as whether or not this particular treat is safe may vary from pet to pet even in spite of a diabetic condition.
