My dog loves it!
A great grain-free dog food at a great price. My old 55 lb. dog really goggles it up and seems to thrive on it.

Only food that worked
Not only would i recommend, I have recommended!!! My large breed Anatolian Shepard could not keep the weight on with any other Hi-pro dog food until i tried a bag of High Prairie! I received some free samples from a Humane Society fund raising event one time and have had her on it ever since. She proudly carried her 68 pound bony frame now very proudly and not an embarrassment to mom if we go places, she carries her much healthier weight of 80 pounds! It has helped attitude as well...she is a happy girl now. Thank Taste of the Wild! Don't change a thing...excellent product!

My dog loved it! I reordered a second bag!
I tried this the first time in August and my 3 year old lab/border collie/husky mix loved it! We love that it's grain free and it helps his coat shine. He was eating the Blue Buffalo salmon and duck flavor before this.

I am looking for a food for a dog with skin sensitivities, what do you recommend?
1 Answer
I would look for foods with the following ingredients, that contribute to skin health: Vitamin A, Vitamin C: Contributes to skin growth and repair Vitamin E: Protects skin from damage incurred by antioxidants Fatty acids (omega 3 and 6): Retains moisture in skin, keeps skin from becoming dry or oily Zinc, Copper, Biotin, Riboflavin, Niacin (Vitamin B2, B3): Metabolizes proteins and fats needed to construct healthy skin There are a variety of foods that include these ingredients, with some more balanced for skin problems than others. Taste of the WIld contains many of these ingredients, as does Simply Wild Salmon & Brown Rice, making them great options for providing basic skin support: http://www.entirelypets.com/simply-wild-salmon-brown-rice-dog-food-20-lbs.html However, there are also formulas from Iams and Royal Canin made specifically to support skin health in pets known to have skin problems. The following pages lead to wet and dry versions of Iams dog food that is formulated to promote a healthy skin and coat and that can be used together or individually: Dry: http://www.entirelypets.com/iams-veterinary-formula-skin-and-coat-response-fp-canned-dog-food-14-oz.html Wet: http://www.entirelypets.com/ivf-skin-coat-plus-fish-potato-15-lb.html Royal Canin's formulation is actually a veterinary strength formula for dogs with severe, chronic skin problems; However, they also make hypoallergenic food to treat skin problems caused by allergies: Skin formula: http://www.entirelypets.com/royal-canin-canine-skin-support-6-lb.html Hypoallergenic Wet food: http://www.entirelypets.com/royal-canin-canine-hypoallergenic-hydrolyzed-protein-24-13-7-oz.html Hypoallergenic dry food: http://www.entirelypets.com/royal-canin-hypoallergenic-hydrolyzed-protein-adult-ps-8-8-lbs.html If you are unsure which level of care your dog needs, you should talk to your veterinarian to determine the cause of your pet's skin problem.
