Wilhemina (Mina) is 2 years old and came into the family in a very unique way. My dad is a locksmith and he was going to do a job on a foreclosed house. He went to go change the locks and he discovered a dog locked in the back room by herself. She had been abandoned by the family who had moved out weeks earlier and was left with only a few bowls of water and food. My dad immediately called us to tell us about the abandoned dog and we rushed over to pick her up.
Now she lives the life of a truly pampered pooch. Never is a lap to sit on, a bone to chew or a dog to play with far from her. She lives with two basset hounds and firmly believes she is one as well. She's fondly referred to as our "Basset in Training" (Little B.I.T.) She's convinced that it's only a little while longer before her ears grow in and she looks just like her basset brother and sister. She has been the best addition to our family and always shows us just how grateful she was to be rescued when she sleeps next to us or lays in our lap. She had a bad start to life but now she spends her days snoozing with the bassets, chasing tennis balls and sitting in someone's lap.
