Used to be good, What happened? by Pony Lady2 from North Carolina06/04/2013
I used to use Equi-Spot, but this year it is not as effective. Have my Flies changed or has the material been re-formulated? Not as happy with it this year. It only lasted a day or two. It was economical, so I bought a lot. Now I'm stuck with a load of stuff that doesn't work as well. I will have to beef it up with fly spray until I use it up and then I will get something else.
Works well for our horses although I liked the old style container better for dispensing the drops.
I have been using this product on my horse for the past 7-8 years. It seems to work although flies are always a problem, no matter the product. She has not had a tick on her in several years. I even did not have a problem with bot eggs this year. Don't know if this is direct result of the product or not. Have not noticed any side effects.
I apply it regularly by TrailRidingal from Pittsburgh, PA06/02/2013
I've been using Freedom 15 for a couple of years, every 15 days or so during the worst of the bug season and a bit less during the coldest weather. When other horses at the barn get ticks, mine seems to be protected. An equine doctor recommended that the dose not be applied to a freshly bathed horse. Also, once I applied it before riding and my horse seemed a bit agitated. Now I apply it after a ride and before turnout.
works really well by vethorse from West Tisbury, MA05/24/2013
My horse is at summer school in NH and he has
not had ticks like everyone else and seems to be less bothered by the flys........so I have to
say it works great! V.
Best Product for Tick Extermination! by Melissa from Lexington, KY07/12/2011
I used a tube of this on each of my horses. I did notice prior to application a pus filled globe underneath my horse's mane - I applied the Freedom 45 to my horse, walked away to get a wipe to pop and remove the pus globe, and upon my return, it had popped and the tick causing the issue was flattened and dead (head and all). This to me is enough to keep using the product year to year.
