We had a very severe thunderstorm come through our area and lightning hit a tree 10 ft from the underground wire. The surge protector did it's job.
The lightning burned up the surge protector and 200 ft of underground wire, but saved the expensive controller.
I would highly recommend the surge protector and also buying from 'Entirely Pets'.
Their service is second to none, product was ordered and received in 2 days ( from California to Georgia ).
I will definately be buying from them again. Hopefully not another surge protector.
