An adult female flea can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. With CAPSTAR by NOVARTIS, almost all your dog's or cat's adult fleas will be gone within four hours.
How to Use
A single dose of Capstar (nitenpyram) should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets reinfested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. To administer CAPSTAR tablets, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth, or hide it in food. If you choose to hide the tablet in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to administer a second pill.
We recommend you follow up CAPSTAR treatment with a monthly flea control product such as PROGRAM, Frontline or Advantage. Then keep CAPSTAR on hand for the times when there is a visible flea re-infestation.
I have had not negative, harmful responses from my dogs and have been using it for about a year now. You can give them one a day, no problem and start to see a difference in how itchy they are immediately.

I had tried a small package of this first for our 3 rescue dogs. We have always had several rescued dogs, and this is the first summer we have had so much trouble with fleas. Hot and dry, I guess.

I have Collie and am always afraid to give them anything new, as they are sensitive to many drugs. I was having such a flea problem, I had to try something. I was amazed. My Collie are all fine and the fleas just fell off. The down side is that I had to do it again 2 days later, but after that, in conjunction with a topical, I have the problem under control. Great product.

I was having a major problem w/fleas. I have 4 dogs, 3 of which have long fur. Before, all I had to do was wash them, then spray w/adams. But lately, as soon as i;d wash them, the fleas were back, I tried frontline, advantix 2 they did not work, so, I purchased this, and lo and behold, it works. Its expensive, w/4 dogs, but we do what we have to for our babies, right?

I have used capstar for several years now on both my cats and dogs. This product really works and with very little side affects. Mostly with the cats.
