Heartgard for Cats & Kittens prevents heartworms disease and provides a defense against heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms. This monthly medication comes in the form of a beef-flavored chewable tablet that is easy to administer and safe for all cats and kittens six weeks of age or older. Using ivermectin, a popular insecticide, Heartgard completely eliminates heartworms by exterminating the tissue stage of their larvae for a full month.
Heartgard for Cats & Kittens is veterinarian recommended to treat and control heartworm infestation and does so more effectively than the next leading brand. This medication comes in two formulations: one for cats between 5 and 15 pounds and one for cats that weigh more than 15 pounds.

Dosing
- Dosing varies by weight with two dosages for cats up to 5 lbs and cats from 5 to 15 lbs
- For cats weighing over 15 lbs, combine different chews to meet appropriate dosage
- Do not double dose under any circumstance in order to avoid overdoses

Administration
- Administer chew orally once per month at the minimum dosage
- Store at room temperature
- Do not remove the tablet from its wrapper until ready to give the medicine
- Safe for use in pregnant or lactating cats

Side Effects

o Staggering
