Bumper Edge goes flat

Seems like a great product. Would have given it 5 stars. However, when washed per directions on label, one side of of rolled stuffed bumper edges went completely flat. I bought two beds and washed both and each had same problem. The reason I bought these beds was for the bumper edges.
