The kidneys do critical work, filtering waste and toxins from the body. But if your dog or cat’s kidneys aren’t functioning properly, then the kidneys could be damaged and other problems can occur. The patented, naturally occurring beneficial bacteria in each Azdoyl capsule work to flush toxins out of the bowel and blood and slow further toxin build up in the body.
METHOD OF ACTION: Helps support normal function and health of kidneys
TREATMENT: This treatment is important for pets with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which begins with azotemia. Azotemia occurs when nephrons decline and non-protein nitrogenous compounds build up, impairing the kidney's ability to filter and eliminate waste. Azodyl helps reduce azotemia and slows the progression of CKD. Azodyl is safe to use and is compatible with other therapies.

Useful Information
Capsule should be administered whole and not opened or crushed. Administer at least one hour before the main meal. Allow free access to to fresh drinking water during administration.
For animals weighing less than 5lbs: Give 1 capsule daily
For animals weighing 5-10lbs: Give 2 capsules daily (1 capsule a.m., 1 capsule p.m.)
For animals weighing more than 10lbs: Give 3 capsules daily (2 capsules a.m., 1 capsule p.m.)

Azodyl® is a brand name for a probiotic supplement used to support kidney health in cats and dogs that have kidney disease.
Dietary supplements are substances that can be used to supplement the diet, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbs, botanicals, enzymes, and probiotics. While many supplements are sold over the counter, they still contain ingredients that have biological effects that should be managed by your veterinarian. Follow your veterinarian’s directions and cautions very carefully as their directions may be significantly different from those on the label.
There are differences in how countries regulate supplements. In the United States, these substances are not as vigorously regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as other medications, which means they can be sold without the manufacturer proving their effectiveness and safety, and without a guarantee of consistent or accurately reported ingredients. In Canada, products that have been evaluated for quality, safety, and effectiveness by Health Canada and authorized for sale will have a license number on the label.
Azodyl® works by adding nitrogen-consuming bacteria to the intestines. These bacteria break down the increased waste products resulting from the kidney’s impaired ability to eliminate them.
Limited studies involving rats, cats, and pigs have found positive results, however other studies have contradicted these results in cats and dogs. Therefore, a treatment trial would be recommended to evaluate effectiveness on a case by case basis.
Azodyl® is given by mouth in the form of a capsule. It may be given with or without food. Do not open or crush the capsules; give each capsule whole.
If you miss a dose, give it when you remember, but if it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed and give it at the next scheduled time, and return to the regular dosing schedule. Never give your pet two doses at once or give extra doses.
Side effects with Azodyl® are rare. Notify your veterinarian if you notice anything unusual while your pet is on this supplement. There are no known risk factors for using Azodyl®.
There are no known drug interactions with Azodyl®; however, vitamins, herbal therapies, and supplements have the potential to interact with each other, as well as with prescription and over the counter medications. It is important to tell your veterinarian about any medications (including all vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) that your pet is taking.
There is no specific monitoring that needs to be done while your pet is taking this medication. Your veterinarian may monitor your pet to be sure that the medication is working.
Store this supplement in the refrigerator.
If you suspect an overdose or an adverse reaction to the medication, call your veterinary office immediately. If they are not available, follow their directions in contacting an emergency facility.

I’ve been using Azodyl twice a day for at least two years. Using Azodyl great has definitely contributed to my dog’s longevity with her renal disease. And, the doctors agree. my veterinarian prescribed this for my cat. she was in the early stages of kidney disease. so she prescribed Azodyl to keep her symptoms at bay and ward off further issues. my cat loves Azodyl. so I have no problems with medicating her. And EntirelyPets makes it easy to get refills on her prescription. They had the best prices I could find for an online pharmacy. I signed up for autofill. I had to get the timing just right and they helped me with that.

My holistic vet recommended this. 2x a day. I had to start a quarter cap...1 x a day & go slow. It gave my kitty loose stool. Some cats have to get use to it..don't give up.!...after a month..1/2 cap 2x a day2 months 1 cap ..2x a day..Now he gets 1 1/2 caps 2x a day & kidney function is doing well. Gained a pound, eating great.I put powder in chilled bisque delectable foods..& mix...

Difficult to say if this is having a large impact for my dog, but prior to using it I tried a generic version. His labs still show worsening kidney disease (as expected) but the results following starting azodyl were not as aggressively worse. This is my second time ordering through entirely pets. They are consistent with packing on cold packs that stay cold once delivered. Also great communication when there was an unexpected delay this time around. Still came fast and no interruption to our usual schedule.

I have used Azodyl (recommended by my vet) for my two seniors cats for their CKD. Though I tried other supplements, so far Azdodyl helped them the most. Their CKD has been managed well and they have good appetite. I applied 3 capsules (2 am, 1 pm).Azodyl is more expensive comparatively, but the effect is very satisfactory. I highly recommend it.

Dog does not like the taste, but it is effective in keeping creatinine stable. This plus the phosbind is a great combo to keep kidney values low.I also recommend purchasing from this company because the azodyl arrives very cold. Delivery was quick and the azodyl was kept at optimal temperature. Do not order from Amazon because the azodyl arrived WARM! This medicine needs to always be kept refrigerated

I have been using this product for several years after testing showed that my cat had the earliest signs of kidney problems leading to chronic renal failure. I found the best price for this relatively expensive supplement at Entirely Pets. My cat has shown no signs of advancing kidney disease. Chronic Renal failure is very expensive and difficult to treat.

I treat one of my cats who was born with kidney malformation and hence kidney disease. This product has been keeping his kidney values in an acceptable range (high end of the normal range) for the last 5 years. Of course, we check his kidney values every six months, and so far so good. We will continue using Azodyl. As for EntirelyPets, I am very happy with the prompt service and above all, with the care with which Azodyl was shipped in a special pouch to keep it refrigerated It got here in less than 2 days, still refrigerated. Will certainly reorder from this company.

My 10 year old cat was diagnosed with moderate kidney disease. Even with special food and subcutaneous fluids, her creatinine and BUN levels were increasing. I brought my cat to the vet for bloodwork August 7th 2023 and again September 18th 2023. I bought these probiotics right after her first August appt and in a month her Creatinine level went from 3.6 to 3.1 and her BUN level went from 56 to 52. I will keep her on these probiotics for the remainder of her life. The toxins that build up from the kidneys not functioning correctly can really make your kitty not feel good and affect their appetite :( These probiotics are important for cats with CKD.
