Dechra Porus One is indicated for the support of feline kidney health. Contains Renaltec which binds protein digestion byproducts in the intestines where they are excreted in the feces. Because of this binding, the byproducts cannot be converted into uremic toxins, which require the kidneys for excretion. As a result, the binding of these byproducts with Porus One supports kidney health.

Porus One should be stored at room temperature. Opened packets are to be used immediately. Fresh water should always be available to your cat. Caution: If your animal's condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian. Better Bloodwork Values

My cat was diagnosed with Stage IV kidney disease with off the chart kidney values. The attending vet told us her condition was hopeless and she should be PTS. We changed vets and made several gradual changes to her diet and management. After adding Porus One, her BUN and CREA actually reduced on her monthly bloodwork. We mixed it in a Lil Soups treat and every morning she would remind us when it was time for her P1 treat. We got 6 more months with lots of happy purrs and snuggles thanks in part to this product.

One of my cats has kidney disease, and several months ago, her veterinarian recommended that she use this supplement to prevent toxins in her digestive track from entering her bloodstream. The scientific study that evaluated this product had a small sample size, but I hope that this product works as intended. Each day, I mix this product into a small amount of my cat's food, and she licks it up. She appears to like the flavor and texture.
