This is my cat Gustav, also known as "Goose" and "Cookie Face". Gustav was a day away from being euthanized at a local shelter when IAR, a rescue group based in Durham, NC, where I live, stepped in and saved his life. I offered to foster Gustav, who was the fattest kitten I'd ever seen, and quickly fell in love with him, and decided to adopt him. We call Gustav "Goose" because he is so silly, and "Cookie Face" because he is so sweet. Even though he is an adult now, he still has a kitteny meow, which I love to imitate.
Gus's current favorite toy is a fishing pole toy with a dragon-fly lure on the end, but he also loves his "ball-ball", and will bring the little sponge balls up to my husband & I so that we will throw them. He chases them, and brings them back to us! Sometimes he drops ball-ball on us in the middle of the night, and I have found ball-ball in my purse and my drink. Gus loves all treats, especially the "Wild Salmon" treats, and he loves eating, playing, and running over our heads in the middle of the night. We don't love the last one so much, but he refuses to change. "I am what I am" says Gus. He is simply one of the most charming cats who has ever lived.
