Have You Ever Heard Of A Munchkin Cat?

Have you ever heard of a Munchkin Cat? If not, you are definitely missing out! A Munchkin cat is a cat that has been born with dwarfism, or as we like to call it “the Munchkin Gene”. The Munchkin cat has become an extremely popular breed of cat lately due to its extreme popularity with the internet community. However, the breed has been in existence since the 1980s and was officially recognized as a breed in 2003 by The International Cat Association. These little cats are extremely social, loving and have their own unique little personalities that make them all that much more adorable.

Now I know what you’re thinking (besides that you have to have one ;) ) are these cats similar to normal domestic cats? Well the answer is yes. These cats grow up to have the same amazing lives as a typical house cat, except perhaps doubling as an accidental floor mop! Our friends over at Tinypurr.com have made an awesome infographic that dives deeper into the breed including key facts, characteristics, history, health, and care. Check it out and experience this extremely cute breed for yourself!

Dustin and Zach are the founders at Tinypurr.com have been longtime friends and roommates who happened to stumble across a small little Munchkin Cat that is now known as Luna. After dealing with the lack of information regarding Munchkin cats and where to get them on the internet, they decided to create a resource to help educate and connect future owners with Munchkin Cats throughout North America. They now focus on making sure (with a lot of help from Luna) that the most current Munchkin Cat information is available to the public.
