Description

MANUKA FILL wound care dressing, consisting of Leptospermum honey in an applicator tube, is a sterile, single-use wound care dressing that helps maintain a moist wound environment conducive to wound healing.

Indications for Use:

MANUKA FILL wound dressing may be used Over-The-Counter for the management of:

  • Minor Abrasions
  • Minor Lacerations
  • Minor Cuts
  • Minor Scalds and Minor Burns

Under the supervision of a healthcare professional, MANUKA FILL wound dressing is indicated for the management of.

  • Leg Ulcers
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • 1st and 2" Degree Burns
  • Diabetic Foot Ulcers
  • Surgical Wounds
  • Trauma Wounds

MANUKA FILL wound dressing provides a moist wound environment. A moist wound environment allows autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue.

Caution: (USA) Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician or other licensed practitioner.

Useful Information

  1. Remove cap, remove conductive seal.
  2. Apply directly to wound or suitable primary dressing.
  3. Cover with appropriate secondary dressing.

Contra-Indications:

There is no record of increased blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes due to the use of honey dressings.

However, it is advisable to monitor the glucose levels during use of MANUKA FILL. Increased pain may be temporarily experienced due to osmotic action and/or the low pH of honey. If pain persists, discontinue use of the dressing and gently irrigate the wound with sterile saline solution.

DO NOT REUSE: This is a single-use dressing. If reused there is a high risk of infection & cross contamination.

Frequency of Dressing Change

Depending on wound exudate, any surrounding interstitial fluid, edema and dressing, protocol may require a daily application. In exuding wounds, the honey will be diluted by the exudate and absorbed into the secondary dressing. Reapply as necessary. Do not use for more than 30 days.
