Description

Oralade RF Support is a ready-to-use, liquid formula for cats that includes balanced electrolytes, nutrients, amino acids, and glucose in purified water. Oralade is a supplemental food to help cats during periods of recovery, or support with intestinal, urinary, or kidney disorders. Formulated by veterinarians and nutritionists, Oralade RF supports cats with special renal and hydration needs. It may help increase fluid intake for cats with chronic kidney disease, flush waste materials, and encourage dilute urine for cats with urinary problems. Oralade RF is also designed to be very palatable, even for cats that are picky, suffering from nausea, poor appetite, or digestive upset.

Oralade RF Support delivers effective hydration by helping maintain fluid and electrolyte levels. It contains balanced electrolytes, including sodium and potassium, and its isotonic formula enables quick fluid absorption and rehydration. It contains simple, easily digestible sugars that provide ready-to-use energy. Oralade RF Support has a low fat and protein content as well as low phosphorus content, making it suitable for cats with kidney conditions. It also includes essential and functional amino-acids glutamate, glycine, L-Arginine, L-Lysine, and L-Carnitine. Oralade RF Support is also made with taurine to help support heart and vision health.

Oralade's hypoallergenic flavor is made with 100% natural hydrolyzed chicken liver. It can also be used to encourage cats to eat more of their regular diet and can be mixed in both dry and canned foods. It does not contain citrates, chlorinated water, or bitter tasting preservatives. The Oralade GI Support formula can be frozen for 12 months for reuse. Talk with your pet's veterinarian before using this product, and follow their specific recommendations.

Useful Information

Oralade is a unique, ready-to-serve solution providing microenteral nutrition and oral rehydration support for cats with acute intestinal absorptive disorders and chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Ultra low fat and low in protein makes it easy to digest. Oralade provides essential fluids, electrolytes, functional amino acids and simple glucose to support enterocyte recovery. Low phosphorous content enables support for renal function. It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use.

Peroral microenteral nutrition

  • Feeds the enterocytes-ultrafast absorption
  • benefits even in vomiting patients
  • Minimizes risk of GI bacterial translocations
  • Optimizes GI health-Improves immune function,
  • blood flow and intestinal barrier
  • Faster transfer to regular diet
  • Minimizes down regulation of important
  • GI enzymes and reestablishes absorptive capacity

Anorexia and Poor Appetite in Cats

Cats do not tolerate fasting and must meet at least 2/3 of their daily energy requirements. Periods of anorexia or poor appetite can have serious consequences and should therefore be approached promptly. Oralade Cat is the perfect supplement to encourage increased consumption of any diet;

  • High palatability-can be mixed in both dry and canned diets
  • Improves hydrations status and thereby wellbeing
  • Improves gastrointestinal tract absorption and barrier function towards bacteria

Cats and fluid therapy-why Oralade Cat is the natural choice

  • Cats are prone to fluid overload when receiving intraveneous fluid therapy
  • High risk groups include; cardiac disease, hyperthyrodism, acute kidney injury
  • Peroral fluid therapy is safe and often sufficient for these patient groups

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

CKD is a very common disease encountered in older cats. Kidney disease is often scored and monitored according to IRIS guidelines. The IRIS system is based on international experts recommendations and aids in decision making and monitoring. Increasing fluid intake is recommended for all stages of CKD. Oralade Cat is therefore suitable to increase fluid intake in all stages of CKD due to its unique taste and optimized electrolyte composition. Increasing fluid intake will;

  • Improve wash out of waste products
  • Help restore electrolyte balances
  • Maintain hydration and wellbeing
  • Replace fluid loss from concurrent gastrointestinal losses (e.g. intermittent vomiting)

Feline Lower Urinary Tract (FLUTD) Disease

LUT disease is common and affects cats at all ages. The condition is associated with a lot of discomfort and pain for the patient. The exact cause is often unknown and management can be highly frustrating for both the owner and the veterinarian. Despite appropriate therapy recurrence is common. LUT disease may lead to urinary obstruction, which is a life-threatening problem that requires immediate veterinary attention. An essential part of treating these diseases is increasing water consumption to promote the production of dilute urine. For non-obstructive or post-obstructive LUT disease Oralade Cat can assist in recovery and maintenance by;

  • Increasing fluid uptake and thereby increase wash-out of sediments
  • Decrease risk of recurrence
  • Alleviate pain and straining
  • Maintain dilute urine as recommended

FAQ

No, Microenteral nutrition only provides enough fluids, electrolytes and nutrients to nourish the intestine cells. IV fluids may also be required based on the patients hydration status.
Yes, Most patients are offered water 2 to 3 hrs prior to any procedure. Oralade makes a palatable alternative, providing a balance of electrolytes and fluids + simple nutrition, that will quickly absorb.
Enterocytes begin to atrophy in less than 90 minutes, from lack of direct nutrient supply, GI shock from Trauma, disease or other dysfunction. It is important to remember that often sick patients have been anorexic for 2 to 3 days prior to admission.
