Description

Renal Essentials Feline Bite-Sized Chews help maintain proper kidney function by supporting renal circulation, normal fluid retention, normal detoxification, stress management, homocysteine balance, and kidney and liver function. The inclusion of astragalus root powder supports kidney circulation and immune function, while the Chinese herb rehmannia supports kidney and liver function, and is known as the "kidney’s own food."

Other ingredients like vitamins B1 and B2 support metabolic activity, including the metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, supporting proper energy production. Folic acid, DMG, B12 and B6 help support methylation and sulfuration pathways, while minerals like potassium are important for water balance. B vitamins are water soluble and not properly recycled during times of kidney stress or dysfunction; therefore, supplementation may be required.

    Cat loves them
    February 16, 2021
My cat has been diagnosed with Kidney Disease so I had to completely stop giving him the Temptation's Treats he adored so much. I'd been on the hunt for cat treats specifically formulated for his condition for the longest time and I can't tell you how happy I am to have finally found these. Even though they do not specify the exact protein percentage, my cat's bloodwork has remained the same for the past two months so they've been okayed by my Vet. For anyone on the verge or still deciding... Go for it! My cat is a really picky eater and he LOVES these! Makes my heart soar when I know I'm giving him something that he truly likes and enjoys.
    Pros
    • Unknown protein precentage.
    Cons
    • Can only give 2 to 4 treats per day. I give him two after breaking them apart into lots of small pieces and mixing them with his regular renal food.

My cats will not eat them! I tried giving them whole, breaking them into smaller pieces and mixing into their food...still they will not eat them. I have wasted a lot of dry and wet food. So, I can only say we don't like them. I even put catnip in the package hoping to blend flavors. Still no luck. I feel I have wasted money on two packages.
