Grandma Lucy's Chicken meal is a nutritionally balanced blend of Chicken, fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

These freeze-dried meals are easy to prepare and makes 15 pounds of fresh food. Simply add 1 - 2 cups of warm water for each cup of Grandma Lucy's Artisan, stir well and let stand for 3 - 5 minutes, then let your dog enjoy!

Freeze-Dried Process
Compared to other drying processes such as dehydrating or air drying, freeze-drying is used at Grandma Lucy's because it is better at retaining the characteristics of the raw food. Freeze-drying's ability to minimize damage to food attributes and components during drying is the reason for claims that the process is also less damaging to enzyme activity. More enzymes will be active in a freeze-dried food than in some raw material dried in another manner. Fresh or cooked foods are flash frozen and placed in an oxygen-free vacuum chamber. About 98% of the foods moisture is drawn out by evaporating the ice at temperatures as low as -85¢XF. The process of dehydrating or air drying typically takes place at much higher temperatures and for longer lengths of time. Both processes achieve their goals of becoming "self stable" where it's safe to store at room temperature for long periods of time. However, since freeze-drying uses very low levels of heat, most food closely retains the taste, texture and aroma of its fresh counterpart.

Just like Grandma makes.

Grandma Lucy's is my favorite dehydrated raw food. My dogs like it, it smells good and it mixes well with the other raw foods I use. I prefer the Pureformance because I like the chickpea instead of potato but use both in a variety of protein types.

Best dog food ever

I have fed my dog many "excellent" dog foods in her 6 years of her life. I have even cooked for her myself . I purchased Grandma Lucy's freeze dried food 4 weeks ago and my dog loved this. She feels so good and looks so good. She is very picky about her food so I was so happy she liked this. Her overall health has improved, she is more content with her meals now. Thank you grandma lucy

Awesome surprise for my pets ....

My dogs get two surprises in one with this freeze-dried dog food. I have purchased the empty dog bones and place the moistened dog food inside them, then freeze and on rainy or cold days, it keeps them busy and gets off the teeth tartar plus all the nutrients for the dog food they need. I've got 2 coonhounds and a shepherd/beagle mix and 3 pounds lasts me for months.
